Who You Are

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families? We are looking for an experienced and committed commissioning leader who is innovative, energetic, and ambitious for our residents, staff, and services. You are politically adept, a skilled communicator, and have a strong track record of delivery in a political organisation. You have a strong knowledge of the legislative and policy context, and you are comfortable navigating complexity and supporting others to effect positive change.

What the job involves

This role is a key part of the commissioning team funded by Southwark Council and South East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB). You will lead a commissioning team focused on Southwark children, young people, and their families. You will provide strategic leadership in developing integrated pathways, facilitating innovation and transformation to improve outcomes for Southwark residents using a deep understanding of population health needs. You will design and use co-production approaches to ensure the voice and experience of Southwark people are at the heart, and lead the integration across health and local government partners, as well as manage budgetary responsibilities aligned to the programme.

Skills

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience at a senior level
• Evidence of continued professional development
• Training in leading programmes (e.g., PRINCE, MSP)
• Experience in performance and change management
• Experience of managing risks and budgets
• Ability to analyze complex issues from multiple sources
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Ability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
