Who You Are

You are an empathetic individual with effective communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Experience in working within a care setting, particularly with people with disabilities, is highly desirable. You understand the rights, needs, and dignity of individuals, along with promoting their independence and choice. You are comfortable with multi-disciplinary teamwork and committed to personal development to meet the role's demands.

What the Job Involves

As a Support Worker, you will assist people with care and support needs in a residential or community setting. Your role includes assisting with personal care activities such as dressing, washing, bathing, and meals. You will facilitate social interaction to maintain connections with family and the community, encouraging independence through individual and group activities. Responsibilities extend to updating care plans and risk assessments, administering medication, and maintaining comprehensive records of events and significant matters. You will also ensure the safety and well-being of service users, meet health and safety obligations, and partake in ongoing training and development. Additionally, you will comply with regulations for enhanced criminal records checks.
