Who You Are
You are a committed professional passionate about improving the safety and wellbeing of children impacted by parental substance misuse. As part of the Family Wellbeing Team, you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment to support families by providing earlier and easier access to resources and diverting them from traditional Child Protection processes.
What the Job Involves
In this role, you will be a key member of a pioneering team that uses innovative social work practices to help families. The position involves conducting Integrated Child and Family Assessments considering both substance misuse and mental health factors. You will participate in multi-agency group supervisions and support the nuanced approach of Keeping Children Safe meetings. Collaboration with partner agencies and co-allocation of cases are integral to the role, as is the close involvement with the family network during assessment and safety planning.
Skills
- Experience in social work or a related field
- Knowledge of substance misuse and mental health issues
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong assessment and planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
