Role

Who You Are

You will be an enthusiastic and positive team player with experience in financial safeguarding, banking, or financial administration, ideally with direct customer contact. You should have strong numeracy, interpersonal, and customer service skills, and a willingness to travel within the Borough for client visits. Knowledge of the Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, and relevant legislation is important. Empathy and the ability to interview and support vulnerable clients are crucial.

Desirable qualifications include relevant financial or administrative credentials like AAT or APAD Accreditation.

What the job involves

In this role, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload of deputyship and appointeeship clients, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. You will prepare applications to the Court of Protection and Department for Work and Pensions, handle day-to-day financial tasks, and provide advice to stakeholders. The role involves liaising with internal teams and external agencies, conducting regular reviews of clients’ financial situations, assisting with property searches, and arranging Public Health Act funerals as necessary. All work must align with Council policies on safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards.
