You are a committed and hardworking individual with a professional qualification or are currently studying for one, such as ILEX, a Law degree, or a Diploma in Legal Studies. You have a basic knowledge of local authority office procedures and relevant areas of law and practice. You demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and service excellence. What the Job Involves
This role includes working under the direction and supervision of a Senior Lawyer, assisting in routine legal and administrative work. Key responsibilities include interviewing witnesses, preparing witness statements, assisting in court proceedings, representing the council at minor cases, preparing documents for lease extensions and property transactions, and undertaking legal research. You will also provide necessary support to staff within Legal Services, operate computerized case management systems, maintain awareness of legal developments, and produce performance monitoring reports. Internal and external contact is required, with frequent interaction with Senior Staff, Counsel, Solicitors, Court staff, and the public.

- Basic knowledge of legal procedures and administration

- Proficient in standard Microsoft packages
- Experience in a legal environment and document preparation
