Who You Are
An experienced Housing Advice/Prevention/Homelessness Assessment Officer capable of starting immediately without extensive onboarding. You have a deep understanding of the Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act, and related legislation. Your experience includes conducting homelessness inquiries, managing cases, and drafting s184 decision letters. You thrive in high-pressure environments, effectively managing the multiple demands of a busy Housing Options Service. You value flexible working arrangements and are comfortable with a mix of office-based and remote work.
What the Job Involves
You will be part of the Housing Options duty Service, engaging in assessments and prevention/relief initiatives, while managing a diverse caseload. Your role entails delivering results within a pressurized service environment. You will start with an office-based induction period of two to four weeks, after which you will work from the office 50% of the time.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation (Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act)
- Experience in homelessness inquiries and case management
- Ability to draft s184 decision letters
- Competence in high-pressure service environments
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in handling multiple demands
- Basic DBS required
- Flexible working proficiency
