Who You Are
You are a compassionate and proactive individual with a dedication to transforming the lives of ex/rough sleepers. You possess the ability to foster trust and provide person-centered support and advocacy. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on-site, mainly from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and can also support outreach sessions during early mornings or late nights. You must be able to use your personal vehicle for business purposes.
What the Job Involves
The Navigator role involves working with a small group of identified ex/rough sleepers in Slough, requiring a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve sustainable outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering an outcomes-based service, engaging with clients to motivate change, identifying complex needs, facilitating joint working with various agencies, and producing high-quality case management reports. The role also includes promoting the delivery of night shelters and outreach programs, ensuring compliance with health and safety measures, and maintaining professional boundaries.
Skills
- Educated to A-C Grade, O level or equivalent in Math and English
- Continuous professional development
- IT literate (Microsoft packages and Internet)
- Experience with ex/rough sleepers and homelessness services
- Understanding of complex needs and multi-agency working
- Knowledge of housing/homelessness law and welfare benefits
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
