Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our busy safeguarding team, covering Redditch and the surrounding areas. You will have significant experience in child protection, pre-proceedings, care proceedings, care planning, and working with looked after children. This role is to cover a team member going on secondment.

What the Job Involves

As a social worker in our Children's Services department, you will work in partnership with children and families to address their social, emotional, and environmental needs. Your responsibilities include safeguarding the most vulnerable children, assessing risks, delivering services to improve lives, co-ordinating services to enable the best outcomes, and acting in compliance with statutory requirements. Tasks might involve representing the authority in court, attending multi-agency meetings, creating outcome-focused plans, maintaining accurate records, and participating in professional development.

Skills

  • Significant experience with children and families
  • Specialist knowledge of Social Work theories and practices
  • Detailed knowledge of current legislation relating to children and families
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in child protection practice and procedures
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
