Who You Are
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team. You should be passionate about enabling independence and safety through major housing adaptations and manual handling assessments. Collaborating effectively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to deliver practical solutions that transform lives is essential.
What the job involves
Your primary responsibilities include completing comprehensive functional assessments, participating in duty triaging, and recommending major adaptations. You'll prescribe and arrange equipment, undertake manual handling risk assessments, and liaise with contractors and housing teams. Maintaining accurate records and producing professional reports are key aspects of the role.
Skills
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Experience in community-based social care settings
- Knowledge of housing adaptations and equipment provision
- Familiarity with manual handling
- Understanding of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and legislation
- Experience with contractors and housing teams
- Proficiency in electronic case management systems
