Who You Are

You should have experience working with children, young people, and their families and be committed to working with families to enhance parenting capacity and improve the life chances of children and young people. You should be self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work as part of a team as well as independently.

What the Job Involves

The role involves providing an out of hours support team in Children’s Services, delivering emergency support and interventions in accordance with CASP, CP, and CLA plans as requested. This includes providing residential support to children and young people in bespoke emergency placements, engaging with clients using strength-based and trauma-informed models, and working within statutory requirements to contribute to assessments and statutory meetings. You will also be responsible for ensuring transport and escort for children, maintaining accurate records, and fulfilling health and safety requirements.

Skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable children and parents/carers in the community
  • Knowledge of the 1989 Children Act and the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Understanding of Child Protection procedures
  • Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Full valid driving licence and sole use of a vehicle
  • Ability to work with quality standards framework
