Who You Are

You are a qualified, HCPC registered Occupational Therapist who is motivated and committed to enhancing the lives of adults through your expertise in community occupational therapy services and social care provision. You possess a sound working knowledge of these areas and are eager to collaborate with a team of professionals, including Technology enabled living assessors and Occupational Therapy Assistants. You have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and are dedicated to your professional, service, and personal development.

What the Job Involves

The role involves working with Herefordshire Council’s Independent Living Service, aiding adults, their families, and caregivers when illness or medical conditions hinder everyday activities. As an Occupational Therapist, you will focus on enablement by facilitating increased engagement and independence, and offering choices and control over daily activities, health, and wellbeing. Working in various settings, including homes, rural, town, village, and city environments, you will offer bespoke interventions, information, advice, and the provision of aids for daily living, adaptations, and specialist community equipment. You will maintain a varied caseload, conduct assessments, and supervise junior staff. Collaboration with social care, health, housing professionals, and external agencies is key to creating personalized programs and ensuring access to necessary services and support.
