What the Job Involves
Your role involves managing and overseeing building inspection tasks within Class 2A criteria, ensuring compliance with all current Building Regulations and technical standards. You'll take charge of appropriate caseloads without supervision and manage a Class 2B – Class 2F caseload under guidance. Your tasks include plan appraisals, conducting site inspections, responding to dangerous structures, and undertaking necessary enforcement actions. You are responsible for supporting junior inspectors, maintaining proper records, and providing advice to stakeholders. You’ll also ensure effective resource management, financial management, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Skills
- Relevant qualifications in Building Control, Surveying, or Engineering
- Registered as Class 2A with the Building Safety Regulator
- Strong knowledge of building construction and legislation
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
- Proficient in IT and data management systems
