Role
Our team work in an busy location, we can receive families with need straight from our MASH team with that require assessments, or from our assessment team that require us to complete depending on the circumstances. We work with families under Child in Need plans, Child Protection plans and up until we issue proceedings, and then transfer to our Court team, or LAC teams. We are made up of teams with an Advanced Practitioner, Social Work Support Officers and Family Support Workers to enable our throughput of work. Our office is central to the area we support. We also have our partner agencies based within our office such as domestic abuse and substance misuse practitioners, which ensure we have access to the right support at the right time. We practice Strengths Based practice in all the work we do with families to ensure that children are safe. Our Ofsted is Good but we are striving for Outstanding and we want that to reflect the work we undertake.
Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency teams.
Undertake statutory visits and maintain accurate, up-to-date case records.
Intervene in crisis situations to ensure the immediate safety of children.
Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings.
Work closely with families to promote positive change and improve outcomes for children.
Liaise with schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to coordinate support.
Provide written reports and evidence for legal proceedings when required.
Monitor and review cases regularly to ensure progress and compliance with care plans.
Advocate for the rights and welfare of children and young people.
We ask that our workers are within the office for a minimum of three times per week to support team morale, team development, and support for each other. Our office is Based in Sutton in Ashfield, the area the role covers is Ashfield District of Nottinghamshire County Council.
