What the Job Involves
This role involves coordinating and managing responses to SEND tribunal appeals, including preparing necessary legal documentation, gathering evidence, and representing the local authority at hearings. You will arrange and support mediation meetings between families and the local authority to amicably resolve disputes, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, tribunal procedures, and statutory timelines. Engaging closely with parents/carers, legal representatives, and schools, you will manage disputes professionally and sensitively, offering expert advice to colleagues on tribunal and mediation processes. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of cases, outcomes, and learning points for service improvement and accountability.
