Who You Are
A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX with at least three years of post-qualification experience, you possess deep knowledge and experience in areas such as civil litigation, housing, and commercial property litigation. You excel in effective communication and have skills in negotiation, drafting complex legal documents, and managing sensitive legal matters. Moreover, you are comfortable working collaboratively with stakeholders and have a proactive, problem-solving approach.
What the Job Involves
As a Senior Lawyer in the Litigation Team, you will manage a caseload of complex and politically sensitive legal issues, ensuring robust governance supports decision-making. Your responsibilities will cover civil litigation, housing, employment, licensing, judicial review, and advocacy. You will contribute to the strategy and management of the Legal Services Team, providing training and guidance on legal and policy developments. You are required to advise members in various settings, provide cover for colleagues, and occasionally attend evening meetings. Initially, the role requires full-time on-site presence, moving to two office days per week thereafter.
