What the Job Involves
As a Catering Assistant, you will assist in providing catering services within the local day service. Your responsibilities include carrying out tasks requested by the Caterer, ensuring that the food quality and presentation meet standards, and preparing simple food items as needed. You will also be responsible for washing up and cleaning catering equipment, surfaces, and storage areas. Additionally, you will support meal service, order stock in the absence of the Caterer, and undertake general dining room duties. You will also assist in COSHH and risk assessments related to the use of chemicals and resolve day-to-day problems on behalf of service users and staff.
