Social Work Assistant - Cardiff Children's Services
Who You Are
You are an experienced professional in working with children and young people, possessing a flexible approach as our service continues to evolve. You have knowledge of relevant legislation for children, including the Social Services and Well Being Act and Fostering Regulations, and ideally possess some experience with trauma-informed care. You are capable of risk assessing individual needs and are competent in both recording information and delivering care plans.
What the Job Involves
As a social work assistant at Cardiff Children's fostering service, you will collaborate with our established and supportive team under the guidance of the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Service Manager. Your responsibilities include managing a caseload of foster carers, providing them with necessary support and supervision. You will review quality of care, establish person-centred and enabling plans, and be prepared to undertake suitable training. This role requires working both independently and within a team.
