What the job involves
As a Social Worker in the Family Safeguarding Team, you will support Safeguarding Teams and undertake duty tasks for children involved in Child In Need and Child Protection Plans, pre-proceedings, and legal proceedings. You will work with adult-focused practitioners on assessments and plans in areas like substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health. Engaging with parents and the wider family network, you will utilize Family Group Conferencing to support them in identifying strengths and changing behaviors. Under the supervision of permanent Team Managers, you'll participate in regular, reflective group and personal supervision.
Skills
- Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
- Substantial experience with children and families in social work
- Strong relationship-building and reflective thinking
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques
- Familiarity with multi-agency collaboration
- Effective use of up-to-date technology for virtual team communications
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle
