We are seeking experienced and qualified Social Workers to join our Family Safeguarding Service in the roles of Parenting Assessors and a Case Progression Officer. These positions are ideal for professionals committed to delivering high-quality services to support children and families. You must have three years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a permanent setting.
What the Job Involves
Parenting Assessors (Qualified Social Workers) x3: In this non-case holding role, you will conduct comprehensive and evidence-based parenting assessments to guide safeguarding and permanency decisions. You will produce clear, analytical reports for court and care planning while adhering to statutory timescales, supporting solid professional decision-making. This role can be performed remotely.
Case Progression Officer (Qualified Social Workers) x1: Also non-case holding, this position requires you to drive the timely progression of pre-proceedings and care proceedings. You will ensure robust evidence gathering, clear care planning, and effective coordination with legal services and partner agencies, all aimed at delivering high-quality assessments and outcomes for children. This role involves some office-based work.
Swindon Borough Council offers a £100 weekly travel and accommodation expense for agency workers residing more than 50 miles from Swindon, valid until 10 May 2026.
