Who You Are

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in social care, particularly in family safeguarding. Your focus is on achieving positive well-being and safeguarding outcomes for children and young people. You are adaptable to change and committed to placing quality and performance at the core of your work. You are a proactive team player capable of supporting the strategic objectives of the Children's and Families Operations Service in Somerset.

What the Job Involves

This role involves leading a team of Family Safeguarding Social Workers responsible for supporting children and families under various support frameworks, including Child in Need, Child Protection, PLO, and Care proceedings. You will recruit, induct, manage, and mentor staff, ensuring their professional development and adherence to professional standards. You will manage team workloads, engage with operational leadership, establish strong inter-agency relationships, and manage resources and budgets. Your focus will be on upholding high-quality service delivery, ensuring timely responses to referrals, and maintaining outcome-focused plans for each supported child.
