You are passionate about design and skilled in dealing with complex applications to help shape Elmbridge. You are committed to providing excellent customer service and understand the importance of good planning in shaping an area. You hold a degree in Town & Country Planning or an equivalent qualification and are eligible for Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. You have significant experience in Development Management and a track record of strong organizational skills.
What the Job Involves
The role involves assisting in the management of an area team within Development Management. You will evaluate and report on planning applications, enforcement matters, and planning appeals. Specific duties include advising applicants and interested parties, ensuring application validity, processing applications, handling appeals, and investigating unauthorized activities. You'll also participate in committee meetings, supervise planning officers, and deliver excellent customer care. Additionally, those on the Principal Scale Points will agree and sign delegated planning decisions.

- Experience in Development Management, especially with major applications
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of local government procedures
