Who You Are
You have proven experience in school attendance, gained either within a school setting or through a local authority. You are committed to improving attendance across schools and possess strong leadership skills to guide schools in policy development and provide case advice.
What the job involves
This is a newly created role focused on implementing targeted termly support meetings with schools as required by the statutory changes in the Working Together to Improve Attendance guidance. Your primary goal is to lead these meetings alongside schools, local authority colleagues, and other agencies to identify students and groups at risk of poor attendance. You'll develop and agree on action plans to support these students and ensure their right to education. A critical aspect of your role will be analyzing attendance data to devise solution-focused strategies aimed at reducing persistent and severe absences and ultimately improving attendance for all children and young people. Note, this is a term time only position.
