Who You Are
Westminster City Council is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Major Works team temporarily. You are someone who can provide continuity during a period of change, and support new team members as they settle into their roles. You have a strong background in housing capital projects, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and efficiently.
What the Job Involves
The role involves managing a portfolio of housing major works projects from start to finish. You'll ensure effective delivery, control costs, and maintain high-quality outcomes and compliance with contract, safety, and statutory requirements. This role requires collaboration across internal teams and with residents, consultants, and contractors. You will provide contract management, commercial oversight, and stability during organizational restructuring, while also supporting the integration of new team members.
Skills
- Experience delivering housing construction/refurbishment projects
- Strong contract management and commercial skills
- Project management experience in the housing sector
- Professional membership (MCIOB, MRICS) - desirable
- Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) - desirable
- Background as a building surveyor or similar - desirable
- Experience with local authority environments - desirable
