Who You Are
You are a dedicated gardener with practical experience in amenity horticulture. Holding an NVQ stage 1 in Horticulture or equivalent experience, you are familiar with all operational aspects required in grounds maintenance. You possess a full UK driving license and ideally have a spraying certificate. You have good stamina, a flexible approach to work, and a commitment to continuous professional development, willing to be a part of a team and support the team’s improvement.
What the Job Involves
The Gardener / Chargehand is responsible for carrying out all aspects of practical amenity horticulture to the highest standards. This involves grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, planting out of bedding plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as general soft landscaping works. You must operate and maintain vehicles and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order and compliant with health and safety regulations. You’ll report defects, care for safety, and contribute positively to the team’s productivity and change initiatives.
