Who You Are
You are an experienced engineering professional with a degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent approved professional qualification in flood risk management. You hold a chartered membership with a relevant body, such as ICE or CIWEM, and have experience in preparing civil engineering construction and drainage projects. You possess strong leadership skills and are capable of mentoring staff.
What the Job Involves
As a Principal Engineer, you will lead a professional engineering service focusing on flood risk management and the maintenance of town center infrastructure. You will act as a technical consultant, advising on drainage and flood risk for development proposals. Key responsibilities include assessing planning applications, managing maintenance works, and liaising with various agencies. You will oversee budgets, supervise staff, ensure health and safety compliance, and prepare reports for committees and external organizations.
