Who You Are
As an Educational Psychologist in the Early Intervention and Specialist Advice Service, you are passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will have a good honours degree in Psychology, and a postgraduate qualification at the Masters or Doctoral level, making you eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council. With experience working with children and young people, you are self-motivated and ready to collaborate with professionals to foster their development.
What the Job Involves
Your main responsibility is to assist the Local Authority in the identification, assessment, and provision for children and young people with special educational needs. You will provide expert psychological advice and support to school staff and others as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your role will involve implementing psychological services to a high standard, offering guidance on developmental and learning needs, and contributing to projects that enhance service delivery. Additionally, you will engage in staff management and development, work collaboratively with other professionals, and promote safeguarding policies.
