As an Educational Psychologist in the Early Intervention and Specialist Advice Service, you are a dedicated professional committed to supporting the identification, assessment, and provision for children and young people with special educational needs. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team, offering psychological advice and consultancy to help children achieve their best at the SEN Support stage. You are an advocate for promoting and supporting the Council's policies for safeguarding and ensuring the well-being of service users.
What the Job Involves
The role involves assisting in the Local Authority’s statutory duties related to the identification, assessment, and provision for children with special educational needs. You'll provide efficient psychological services, offer advice on developmental and learning needs, and support projects that enhance service delivery. You'll collaborate with senior staff, train colleagues, and work within a multidisciplinary team to effectively manage and support pupils. Personal effectiveness is key, as the role requires staying updated with legislative frameworks and maintaining professional skills.

- Eligibility for registration as an Educational Psychologist
- Good honours degree in Psychology
- Experience with children and young people with special needs
- Knowledge of current Educational Psychology approaches
