We seek a skilled, proactive Social Worker to join Lewisham's Care Resources service on a temporary basis. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring every child living in residential care receives safe, high-quality, and child-centered support.

What the Job Involves

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and delivering a program of planned and responsive quality assurance visits across our provider network. You will evaluate care standards, highlight strengths, identify improvement areas, and implement clear, outcome-focused actions. The visits primarily occur across London and the South East, with occasional nationwide travel. Part of your responsibilities will include collaborating with providers to ensure continuous improvement and sustainable progress. You will also contribute professional challenge, insight, and leadership across Care Resources, supporting colleagues in fostering, kinship, SGO, and placement teams to strengthen practice, build stability, and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and best practice standards.

Skills

• Qualified and registered Social Worker
• Significant experience in safeguarding, quality assurance, and assessment
• Background in fostering, kinship, SGO, residential, or placement services
• Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Confidence in providing constructive professional challenge
• Commitment to centralizing children's voices and meeting their needs
