Who You Are

We are seeking a compassionate and diligent Social Worker with experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism. You have a strong understanding of the social model of disability and can demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self-awareness, and acceptance of others. You are able to prioritize workloads, work with competing deadlines, and effectively manage your time. Self-reliant and resilient, you respond positively to challenging situations and are willing to embrace organizational change. Access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

What the Job Involves

Your role will involve undertaking assessments of risk and care needs for service users and carers, ensuring appropriate action is taken and reviewed effectively according to relevant legislation. You will manage a caseload of varying complexity, engage in partnership working with other agencies, and maintain client records to a high standard. You will also be responsible for facilitating the provision of a needs-led service, planning, and agreeing on service responses, resources, and support. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals is crucial, as is promoting equality, diversity, and rights in an anti-discriminatory way.

Skills

  • Relevant multi-disciplinary social care experience
  • Partnership working with other agencies
  • Knowledge of Social Work England guidelines and legislation
  • IT skills for data input, manipulation, and retrieval
  • Fluent in English as per Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)
  • Knowledge of social care resources beyond statutory agencies
  • Supervisory experience (desirable)
  • Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, Masters or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
