Social Worker - Children and Families
St. Helens MBC
Role
Who You Are
You are a dynamic and experienced social worker skilled in managing CIN/CP and PLO work, experienced in conducting section 47 investigations, and adept at working in a high-paced environment. You thrive in scenarios requiring quick assessments and the creation of effective plans for children, ensuring their best interests are always at the forefront.
What the Job Involves
As part of the Duty Service, you will be responsible for responding to referrals from the MASH and initiating assessments and plans for children. You'll be part of one of the four teams, each composed of a team manager, an assistant team manager, and six social workers. Your role will involve being on duty once every 4 weeks to handle referrals and perform necessary assessments. Cases will be managed short-term, focusing on CIN plans with options for stepping down or transferring in cases of CP and PLO at the first planning meeting.
The position is currently temporary while we recruit permanent staff. However, you'll receive comprehensive support, including regular supervision and assistance from a practice support team, to help you meet the high standards of St Helens practice.
While you will enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, a minimum of two office days per week is required, with a full-time presence during your duty week.
