Who You Are
You are a dedicated and skilled gardener with expertise in practical amenity horticulture. You are committed to maintaining high horticultural standards and have a positive attitude towards team improvement and development. You possess a minimum of NVQ stage 1 in Horticulture or equivalent, or have at least two years of proven practical experience in Grounds Maintenance. A current, full UK driving license and a spraying certificate are essential.
What the job involves
This role involves carrying out all aspects of practical amenity horticulture, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and general landscaping. You will operate and maintain vehicles, plants, and machinery in compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any equipment defects to your line manager. The job also includes maintaining sports facilities and ensuring a safe working environment. A flexible approach, including the ability to work in any location within the city boundary, and availability for overtime is necessary.
