Senior Family Engagement Officer (Scale 5)
London Borough of Hillingdon
Role
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills and enjoys working with families from diverse backgrounds. You should be able to build positive relationships with children, parents, professionals, and the wider community. A highly organized individual, you should be confident in using ICT systems and managing competing priorities. Understanding the challenges faced by families and the importance of early intervention is crucial, as is the ability to work well in a busy, multi-agency environment. Providing excellent customer service and representing the Council’s values are also essential attributes.
What the Job Involves
This front-facing role involves welcoming families into the centre, managing a busy reception area, and ensuring a high standard of customer care. Respond to enquiries by phone, email, and face-to-face while providing information and advice about childcare, health, finance, and family support. You'll maintain accurate family records and act as a super user for the children’s centre database. Coordinating the Your Bump and Beyond antenatal programme and producing data reports are part of the responsibilities. Ensuring all data handling meets Council policies, including safeguarding and data protection, is also essential.
