Who You Are
We are seeking an individual with significant mediation and Tribunal experience within a SEND Team. You should be capable of undertaking appeal work and representing the Local Authority at mediation and tribunal SENDIST hearings. You'll have expertise in case preparation, evidence gathering, and managing senior-level casework. The position is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and who thrives in remote working scenarios.
What the job involves
This role involves overseeing and managing the statutory education, health, and care plans, assessment processes, provision, and review for Pre-16 children and young people with SEND in their identified locality. Responsibilities include ensuring child and family participation in the EHC assessment process, developing partnerships with families and professionals, managing SEND document quality, and line managing a Locality SEND team. You will oversee the allocation and performance of work, manage the quality of SEND provisions, and represent the Local Authority at tribunals and mediation meetings. Additionally, you will contribute to decision-making panels, respond to complaints, lead improvements in educational outcomes, and maintain relationships with educational services and other local authorities.
