You are a compassionate and skilled occupational therapist dedicated to providing professional and personalized therapy services to adults and elderly residents with physical disabilities and dual diagnoses. You have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Your excellent communication skills allow you to effectively liaise with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
What the Job Involves
The role involves conducting holistic assessments of patients' needs within their homes and over the telephone. You will recommend rehabilitative solutions to promote independence and improve quality of life. Additionally, you are responsible for continuously evaluating and improving the occupational therapy service on both professional and administrative levels. The position requires close collaboration with nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, and volunteers to assess and treat patients. Managing caseloads, supervising junior staff, conducting home visits, supporting team members, and attending family and multidisciplinary team meetings are key responsibilities. The ability to travel around the Borough for home visits and community settings is essential.
