Who You Are

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Social Worker to join our Child Care Assessment Team within the Social Services and Housing directorate. You are committed to providing targeted support to children and families and have a passion for safeguarding the welfare of young people.

What the Job Involves

As a Social Worker in the Child Care Assessment Team, you will undertake critical responsibilities including child protection, managing Young People Looked After, court-related duties, and family support in line with the Social Services and Well Being Act (Wales) Act 2014. You will adhere to statutory timescales, complete timely assessments, conduct child protection investigations, and manage a caseload that includes court cases. Your role will include participation in a S.47 JI rota, involving assessments of high-need child cases and potential exploitation concerns. You will support the team in developing a S.47 Team and an Assessment Team, contributing to children’s safeguarding and your own professional growth.

Skills

  • Qualified social work degree
  • Experience in child protection and family support
