Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker specializing in safeguarding children, either currently working as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) or possessing extensive recent experience in the role. You have a track record of handling allegations in a timely, robust, and fair manner, with an ability to collaborate effectively with all involved agencies and stakeholders.
What the Job Involves
The position involves working within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service as a Local Authority Designated Officer. Your primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate allegations against individuals working with children, ensuring that these concerns are addressed effectively. You will provide advice and guidance to employers and organizations, dealing with concerns about adults in positions of trust as defined by "Working Together to Safeguard Children" (2013).
Skills
- Social work degree, Social Work England (SWE) registered
- Post-qualifying experience in children's safeguarding
- Knowledge of LADO role and related legislation
- Risk management skills
- Experience in multi-agency work
- Ability to scrutinize and challenge effectively
