An experienced data analyst with extensive analytical experience or equivalent degree-level education. You are a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of transforming data insights into actionable decisions. Your proficiency in query languages and data analysis tools, alongside excellent mathematical and statistical skills, makes you adept at solving complex business problems. You thrive working both independently and as part of cross-functional teams, and possess strong communication skills to articulate technical topics to diverse audiences. What the Job Involves

This role is pivotal in advancing Slough Borough Council's use of data and technology, helping to shape and deliver the council's Data Strategy. You will manage and develop the technical infrastructure for data integration, create powerful and insightful Power BI dashboards, and ensure data quality for effective decision-making. The job requires leading data projects, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, and supporting continuous improvement and service delivery through data-driven insights. You will work on strategic objectives, provide professional management and leadership within your team, and support the Council’s ethos of continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Strong analytical experience with complex data sets
  • Proficient in SQL, R, Python, Power BI
  • Excellent mathematical and statistical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly
  • Experience building dashboards and data visualizations
  • Experience in the public sector (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS)
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of national and international standards (e.g., ITIL, ISO)
