What the Job Involves
As a Transport and Allowances Officer, you will undertake various administrative tasks, such as processing applications for free school meals and school transport, carrying out eligibility checks, and ensuring that all necessary ID checks and documentation are completed for school transport drivers. The role involves maintaining accurate databases and ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies by managing DBS checks. You will be responsible for managing financial processes, including processing invoices and contracts. The role also involves acting as a key contact for schools, parents, and transport providers, providing advice and guidance on transport and allowances matters. You will work closely with the Transport Officer to facilitate smooth operation of transport routes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
