Role

Who You Are

You are a qualified social worker with a registration from Social Work England. You have post-qualifying experience in statutory social work, particularly in child protection. You are empathetic, sensitive, and diplomatic with excellent decision-making and communication skills. You are an influential negotiator and not afraid to think creatively to solve problems. You have experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment and are confident in planning, developing, and improving services. You possess excellent management and leadership skills and can work effectively in partnership with young people, families, and other professionals.

What the Job Involves

As a Team Manager with the Central Bedfordshire Council's Family Help Service, you will lead a multi-disciplined team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners in delivering assessments, care planning, and interventions for families supported under targeted early help, child in need, and child protection pathways. You will attend the office at least twice weekly and as needed to meet service requirements. Your role includes making day-to-day safeguarding decisions, handling HR actions, and any other tasks required. You will report directly to the Service Manager with supervision and support available from both the Service Manager and Head of Service, while contributing to creating a collaborative environment where both you and your team can grow and improve.
