  • Builds strong relationships and communicates confidently with colleagues, stakeholders, and residents.
  • Understands relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and NHS Continuing Health Care.
  • Is confident in negotiation skills with providers.
  • Is numerate and confident in interpreting financial information.

What the Job Involves

The role includes:

  • Providing a purchasing function within the Brokerage Team for externally sourced adult social care and health services.
  • Liaising with social work teams and healthcare partners to identify individual care and support needs.
  • Sourcing and negotiating prices within budget limits for services such as residential care, domiciliary care, and supported living.
  • Maintaining electronic records of contacts and staying updated on service capacity and availability.
  • Collaborating with professionals to finalize care plans and ensure necessary authorizations.
  • Attending relevant meetings to evaluate and improve purchasing activities and explore value-for-money alternatives.
  • Participating in local emergencies and incidents as required.

Skills
