What the Job Involves
This role involves working within the South Locality Adult Social Care Mental Health Team at Westminster City Council, based on 190 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London, SW1V. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality social care support to adults experiencing mental ill health. Key tasks include participating in the duty rota, conducting strength-based assessments and care plans, applying for funding, developing Section 117 aftercare plans, and acting as a Lead Enquiry Officer for safeguarding enquiries. Hybrid working arrangements are available, allowing for both office and home-based work as agreed with your Supervisor and Team Manager.
Skills
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in a community mental health team
- Understanding of Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding processes
- Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Organizational skills and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Mosaic or similar IT systems
- Strong time management skills
- Experience with older adults with complex mental health issues
- Ability to work in partnership and maintain high standards under pressure
- Flexibility in approach and enthusiasm for working with older adults
