Who You Are
You are an experienced and knowledgeable gardener with a background in practical amenity horticulture. You possess either an NVQ stage 1 in Horticulture or at least two years of proven practical experience in grounds maintenance. You hold a current, full UK driving license and a spraying certificate. You have a deep understanding of horticultural machinery, plant identification, and health & safety regulations. You are a team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude, willing to learn and adapt to new skills and changes.
What the Job Involves
As a Gardener, you will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of horticulture, meeting the highest standards of the Grounds Maintenance Specification. Your duties include grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, leaf and litter clearing, planting bedding plants, trees, and shrubs, and maintaining shrub beds through pruning and division. You will apply chemicals, maintain sports facilities, and undertake general soft landscaping works. Responsible for the maintenance of vehicles and machinery adhering to safety standards, you will report any defects and ensure safe working conditions for yourself and others.
