Who You Are

As a Fleet Driver, you play a crucial role within the Place, Transport, and Travel Services, particularly in Fleet Operations. You're responsible for the safe and effective transportation of passengers, ensuring their welfare and compliance with all safety and service requirements. With significant driving experience and expertise in handling diverse passenger needs, you're committed to maintaining high standards in vehicle operation and customer care.

What the job involves

Your job involves delivering service plans and objectives for the Fleet Operations team, safely transporting passengers, and ensuring their general welfare and safety. You will operate and maintain vehicles according to policies and document operations as required. Additionally, you will collect fares, ensure vehicle cleanliness, adhere to driving regulations, alert management to any issues, and undertake necessary training. You may also provide support services within Day Centres as directed and work weekends as part of a rotating schedule.

Skills

  • A full, endorsement-free driving license with category D/D1/D1 (101) Licence
  • Manual Handling training
  • Emergency First Aid Qualification
  • Experience in passenger transportation and working with vulnerable people
  • Minimum of 4 years driving experience
  • Experience working to tight schedules
  • Knowledge of wheelchair securing
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Commitment to excellent customer care and safety
