What the Job Involves
This role requires you to be an integral part of the statutory prevention and relief housing service, providing full assessments and advice to individuals at risk of homelessness. You'll develop personalized housing plans, ensure compliance with the Housing Act 1996, and record cases systematically. You'll collaborate with internal and external partners, manage temporary accommodations, and contribute to performance monitoring. Additionally, you'll participate in a duty rota for emergency and out-of-hours services, support emergency response efforts, and represent the Housing Solutions Team in case-related meetings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and welfare benefits
- Experience working with housing software systems
- Proficient in writing statutory decision letters and customer service
- Ability to manage conflicting workloads and casework effectively
- Experience in partnership with other agencies and providers
- Data management and report generation skills
- Full driving licence and willingness to visit homes unaccompanied
- Willingness to work outside normal hours if required
