Role

Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced planning enforcement contractor for a 12-week period. You are someone who is adept at investigating and resolving complex, high-profile breaches of legislation, impacting various facets of the borough. You can operate across traditional boundaries and utilize the best available powers from different disciplines.

What the Job Involves

The job requires working within a geographical area, on a project basis, or as part of a multi-agency enforcement task force. This often involves collaborating with other Council Services, the Police, and other regulatory bodies. Your role will be to investigate breaches of planning and environmental law in alignment with the Council's overarching goals of fairness, growth, sustainability, and robust communities. You will assist in managing the objectives of the Pollution Control, Planning, and Licensing Enforcement Action Plan by implementing flexible and effective tactics and operations. You will provide a consistent point of contact for residents and businesses, leading resolution efforts for complaints and issues. Furthermore, you will give leadership advice on planning enforcement appeals and will be required to communicate effectively with elected members and other partners/stakeholders. Constructive collaboration with various partner organizations and internal services is essential.
