Who You Are

This role is for an experienced social worker, not newly qualified, and will be within the Information and Advice (I&A) team. You are someone who is dedicated to assisting people in resolving major difficulties and enhancing their independence and coping skills.

What the Job Involves

You will work within current legislation and Council policy to assess, commission, and review services and planned interventions for a specific client group. The job requires adherence to statutory guidance and a policy/procedural framework to protect those at risk or vulnerable. Responsibilities include contributing to the development and maintenance of systems that ensure quality service across the city and identifying individuals particularly at risk. You will collaborate positively with colleagues in both statutory and independent sectors, promoting a multi-agency approach and empowering clients to advocate for themselves.

Skills

  • Experience in social work within an I&A team
  • Proficient in current legislation and Council policy
  • Ability to assess and commission services
  • Knowledge of statutory guidance related to at-risk individuals
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration
  • Strong communication and empowerment skills
