Youth Support Worker (Universal ‘Safe Spaces’)
Who You Are
You are passionate about creating safe and inclusive environments for young people. You possess a recognized Youth Work Qualification (Level 2) or are willing to work towards achieving it. You have experience engaging with young people, understanding their needs, and establishing positive relationships. Familiarity with the factors affecting young people locally and the principles of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice is essential. Your ability to work during evenings, weekends, and school holidays aligns with service operational needs.
What The Job Involves
This role involves delivering and developing youth work sessions within 'safe spaces' for young people aged 11 to 19 years old, and up to 25 for those with special needs, across the borough. You will engage young people through conversations and activities, support their understanding of risk, and empower them to take positive actions. Duties include planning and evaluating youth activities, assisting with signposting to additional services, and ensuring an inclusive environment. Collaboration is key, as you work with partners and colleagues to deliver a high-quality service that amplifies young people’s voices and experiences.
