You are dedicated to building positive relationships with young people, particularly those between the ages of 11 and 19, or up to 25 for those with special educational needs or disabilities. You value inclusivity, diversity, and the principles of social justice and equality. You are comfortable working evenings and weekends and are committed to the continuous personal and professional development necessary to support young people's wellbeing and safety.
What the Job Involves
As a Youth Support Worker, you will deliver and develop youth work sessions that provide 'safe spaces' for young people across the borough. You will engage with youth individually and in groups in order to support their holistic personal, social, emotional, and educational development. The role includes planning, evaluating, and delivering various activities and experiences, as well as signposting young people to appropriate services. You will actively involve young people in shaping the services offered, ensuring inclusivity and promoting a safe environment.
