Working location: Hilda Coles Extra care home, Bridgwater, Westfield close. We are looking for a cleaner to start and finish their work at site. 10 hours per a week, working 2 hours per day Monday-Friday. Start time of 8am but can be adjusted for suitable candidate.

Role purpose
This role is essential in ensuring that all areas, including classrooms, play areas, restrooms, and communal spaces, are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness to support the health and well-being of children, staff, and visitors. The Cleaner will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces, as well as managing waste disposal. The role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and welcoming environment. The Cleaner will also be expected to adhere to health and safety regulations, use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly, and report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
Accountabilities
Empty waste bins and dispose of collection bags safely. Put bags out for collection � weekly Wash, clean, polish floors using the appropriate machine and cleaning agent. Vacuum carpeted areas. Wipe down, dust and polish furniture in a careful and thorough manner, checking tables and chairs for any damage likely to cause injury. Undertake a deep clean during holiday periods, including washing walls furniture and fixtures. Report breakages to the Finance and Data Officer, eg leaving completed information sheet requesting action to be taken. Operate safe working environment for people in the building, eg display appropriate safety signs. Regulate walking over wet areas whilst cleaning activities are carried out. Maintain the cleaning storage area in a clean tidy safe condition. Maintain records of use of equipment and materials as required by the Finance and Data Officer and/or Control of Substances Harmful to Health. Report faults in equipment to the Finance and data Officer as soon as possible. Knowledge / Experience / Skills
Essential Desirable
Knowledge Understanding of cleaning techniques and best practices. �
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning. �
Familiarity with the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. �
Awareness of waste disposal and recycling procedures.

� Qualifications / Registrations / Certifications Basic education, including literacy and numeracy skills. �
Certification in cleaning or janitorial services.
