Who You Are

You are a dedicated and proactive individual with a strong commitment to supporting learners at risk of exclusion or disengagement. You have an extensive understanding of the issues facing children in care or those with specific learning needs. You are passionate about inclusive education and empowering young people to achieve their full potential.

What the Job Involves

  • Case Management: Lead on individual learner cases, coordinating multi-agency support and ensuring timely interventions for those at risk of exclusion or disengagement.
  • Pathway Planning: Develop personalized education and progression plans reflecting each learner’s strengths, interests, and aspirations.
  • Alternative Provision Oversight: Coordinate alternative education placements for students unable to access mainstream settings, ensuring they are purposeful and lead to recognized outcomes.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Attend and contribute to TAC meetings, PEP reviews, and safeguarding discussions to ensure education remains central to planning.
  • Attendance and Engagement Monitoring: Track attendance, progress, and well-being, intervening early to prevent drop-out or disengagement.
  • Student Voice and Empowerment: Ensure young people are actively involved in decisions about their education and future, promoting confidence and self-advocacy.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of children looked after and/or early years
  • Knowledge of SEND, safeguarding, and statutory responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and case management skills
  • Commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning
